Field Trips, Camping, Easter and lots of bike riding

April started with Casey and Zane headed to Don Pedro Reservoir for a Dad's and Kids Camping trip with our church.  They had lots of fun mountain biking, fishing and meeting new friends.

Next Zane and Mom had two field trips, one to the Fresno Zoo to learn about different zoo careers and the second to the Renaissance Fair that came to Visalia.

Four of the families from Hartland participated in the Zoo field trip

During the month of April we put in quite a few bike rides around Hartland.

For Easter we headed to Arizona for a week to spend time with my parents.  On our way there we stopped in Barstow and mountain biked in the Mojave Desert with my friend Sherry and her fiance Jose.

Sherry and I worked together at the vet hospital in Washington

An open mine shaft, according to Casey's estimate, it was around 40-60 feet deep(did the math on how long it took a rock to hit the bottom)

While at my parents we did a few bike rides in the area.  One day we did over 20 miles on the paved trails along the canals.  We also rode at Lake Pleasant and Casey and Zane spent some time at a dirt bike track.

We had a great week spending time with my parents.

The end of April finished with Zane completing his first year in Awanas.  He earned lots of badges throughout the year for learning his memory verses.

I think this month proves that we are becoming a biking family.  It is definitely something we can all do together and we enjoy exploring new areas.
