Easter in Texas, Fun in the Mud and Chain Rattlers

At the beginning of April we spent a week visiting our good friends the Anderson's in Texas for Easter.  Zane loved working on the farm; mowing, taking care of the chickens, gathering eggs, driving the side by side and playing with Kona.  One of our first adventures there was the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.  You could drive your vehicle through the park and hand feed giraffes.  It was amazing!!

His face says it all

Amazing!!

Becca really liked the Ostrich(not so much)

Casey helped us figure out the names of all the animals

We spent half a day kayaking the Brazos river with Becca, Damian and Josh.

We enjoyed relaxing in the pool and hot tub and just hanging around the house.

Zane loved jumping off the waterfall into the pool

On our last day in Texas we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards with Grandma Connie.  It was very touristy but lots of fun.

Zane and Casey did a maze

There were lots of helpful(not) signs in it

Zane got to sit on a real live longhorn(he thought it was fake)

The rest of the month of April was fairly quiet.  Doing some fun stuff around Hartland like the climbing wall.

Ringing the bell at the top

Racing Pops up the wall, Zane just barely won

On a sunny day Zane and the Embry boys played in the mud in the creek.  In certain places the mud was black from the ash of the fires in 2021.  They thought that was the best.

Back in March, Zane started disc golfing with a kids group in the valley, The Chain Rattlers.  He now has his own discs and bag and is enjoying playing with others.  The group gets together about twice a month.

And that's all for the month of April.  See you next month.
