Summer Road Trip Part 2 in Idaho, Alcatraz, Arizona and Zane Goes to Camp
The second part of our summer road trip found us in Declo, Idaho. We got to spend some wonderful time with our good friends Dustin and Jodi and their two boys Merit and Pete. Zane had a great time playing with the boys and riding dirt bikes. We also celebrated the Fourth of July with them, watching a parade and setting off fireworks. This was something super special for Zane, since we don't really celebrate it in California, due to fireworks being illegal where we live.

A few days after we got home we headed to the Bay to meet up with Laura, Rodney and Clay to tour Alcatraz. We also checked out the submarine USS Pampanito and an Arcade Museum.

A few days later they came and visited us at Hartland. We were able to take them up into Sequoia National Forest and show them the big trees.

Next I headed to Arizona to spend a week with my Dad while my Mom was in Portland. It was a little hot, but we had a good time together. I got lots of quilting done, Dad worked on some projects for me, we took Dot to agility and played some fun games together.

We ended July with Zane going to camp for a week. He joined a church from Bakersfield for the week. He had a great counselor that was really invested in the boys for the week(he even got them up at 5am every morning to exercise and start the day in God's word). His team earned the most points for the week and Zane ended up as a Hartland Champion for the second year in a row.
