Field Trips, Washington DC and Snomaggedon

We started the month of February off with two different field trips.  The first was to Millerton Lake to look for Bald Eagles that nest there in the spring.  We saw one eagle very far off in a tree.  Though a few days later I saw one in a tree on the way to town, the first I have seen in the area around our home.  Zane's friends Parker and Sawyer joined us on the trip.

Our second field trip was to the World Ag Expo.  Once again it was fun to try out all the tractors.

At the end of the month, I headed to Washington DC for the wedding of my cousin Jacob.  It was a quick whirlwind trip.  I took a red eye flight out and landed in the late morning and spent the rest of the day at the National Mall.  Then I headed back to the airport to meet my parents and then we wandered our way through the city to find our VRBO(it was an adventure).  The next day was spent at wedding activities and hanging out with my other cousins Alan and Isaac and his wife Favour and son Bunke and my brother Zac and his wife Jen.  On the third day Mom, Dad and I headed out for a drive to go to Delaware.  None of us had been in the state so we explored the country side and walked on the beach.

While I was in DC, Zane and Casey were in the middle of a large snow storm at Hartland.  When I got home and over the next few days we had around 4-5 feet of snow.  The power was out for 8 days, it was quite the adventure.

Zane has been loving the snow.

More snow and rain storms in California to come next month.  It has been a crazy season of weather at home.
