Pismo Beach, Grand Canyon and Thanksgiving Adventures

November started out with us heading to Pismo beach for Hartland's Staff Retreat.  This has become a very special time for us as a family and as staff.  We are so blessed to be part of Hartland's Ministry.  We had great weather to spend lots of time in the water.  Zane was very excited because we happened to find him a wetsuit at a thrift store earlier in the year.  Zane spent a lot of time on the boogie board and is getting good at riding the waves.

The week before Thanksgiving we headed out for some adventures before we ended up at my parents for the holiday.  We started out by going to the Hoover Dam.  It's a place Casey has always wanted to see and we got to add Nevada as a state that Zane has been too.  We got to drive across the dam and then walked over it as well to check out all the views.

After Hoover we headed to the Grand Canyon.  Part of the South Rim is closed to passenger vehicles so we brought our bikes.  It was a great adventure.  It was 8 miles of biking.  Originally when I looked up the elevation change it said 450 feet, and we thought that wouldn't be to bad, nope that was from highest point to lowest point along the route, the total elevation change that we road was 2600feet.  It went up and down the whole way, but we made it and Zane did great.  It was a great accomplishment, plus with the bikes we stopped at all the view points and it was a great way to see the South Rim.

Family Fun

After the Grand Canyon we stopped at two heritage sites on the way to Sun City.  The first stop was Honanki Heritage site.

The second stop was Palatki Heritage site.  As we came up to the area there was a ranger that stopped us and asked if we had tickets(we didn't know you needed them), we said nope, but they had just had a group cancel, so we got to jump on the last tour of the day.  That was a great blessing.  Palatki had amazing pictographs all over.

We then headed to Nana and Grandpa's house for Thanksgiving.  We were joined by Zac and family and Auntie Dee.  We had lots of fun spending the holiday together with family.

Casey found a pump track near Nana and Grandpa's house.  They had so much fun they went twice while we were there.

November was a great month seeing new sites and spending time with family. May you all be blessed with a wonderful holiday season coming up.
