Our little cabin is getting buried. Every time it snows it slides off the roof and buries the porch deeper and deeper.
But back to January and our local adventures.
We did a nice 3 mile hike back to Pierce pond. It wasn't frozen this time but it was a beautiful hike there and back. Zane loves the Manzanita trees that grow everywhere around Hartland. He even has a Manzanita song!
A Manzanita tunnel
Zane and I have been doing a lot of hiking around Hartland as well. Zane rides his little coaster bike everywhere, he calls it mountain biking, just like Pop does. There are lots of trails for us to explore. Zane loves to look for animal tracks in the snow and lately we have been seeing swarms of ladybugs.
On one of Casey's days off we ventured up Whitaker Forest road to the National Park. It's a rough road on it's own, but this time there was lots of new snow. So we got to put the Jeep to the test as we broke through the new snow and made it all the way to the park.

Getting a sled ride and eating the snow!
Breaking through the fresh snow
One of the many blessings of Hartland is that Zane gets to occasionally help Casey at work. Zane loves to help his Pop in any way possible!! It was burn pile day and Zane got to help dump branches on the burn pile and turn it over with the backhoe.
Dumping branches on the fire
Getting more air into the fire so it burns better.
Zane and I have been doing a little school on our own. Zane is starting to learn his letters and we made an Apple for A.
We pray that you all are doing well and the next post will have more pictures with all of our many snow adventures here at Hartland. God Bless.
