Arizona, Pumpkins and other Fun

Zane and I started the month off with a visit to my parents in Arizona.  My brother and his family were just finishing up their month renting a house in AZ, so we got to spend a day with them swimming in their pool and celebrating Nana's birthday.  Zac, Keanan, Kyla and Grandpa had built a scooter that was really fun to ride.

During our stay, Zane and Grandpa did a bunch of science and building experiments.  They blew a cork off a wine bottle with vinegar and baking soda and they built a catapult.  Zane got to learn how to use the band saw as well.

We made a trip to the pumpkin patch.  Our family rule is that you have to be able to carry the pumpkin from the field to the cashier.  This used to control the size of the pumpkin, but Zane made it all the way with a very large pumpkin stopping about every 5 feet to take a break!

For school Zane is now getting a Raddish Box subscription.  He loves to help me in the kitchen, a love he developed as a baby when he got to sit on the counter at the Anderson's and watch them cook.  He gets one box a month that has a cooking utensil and three recipes in it.  For October we made Mummy Enchiladas and Ghost Tres Leches Cake.

That's all for our October adventures.  We look forward to the beach and Thanksgiving in November.  May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving whether it is with family or on your own.
