Another month has come and gone. We have spent most of the whole month under a layer of smoke here at Hartland. There are two major fires near us. The Creek Fire is about 25 miles north of us and is the largest fire in the history of California. And the SQF Complex Fire is about 25 miles south of us. There have been days of raining ash and very poor air quality but then we have some blue skies with the lingering smell of smoke. The air quality this month greatly affected our Hike it Baby challenge for September. We only did 56 miles(Zane set a goal of 90 miles). We did manage to get 108 hours of outside time, we really took advantage of the better days. Here is some fun photos of our outside time:
We have seen a lot of tarantulas on the roads near us

At the beginning of the month we had our last days to enjoy the pool at Hartland. Zane did a great job this year getting better at going under water and working on his swimming.

Zane has been doing great at school. Some of the things he enjoys most is building things with gears, science experiments and listening to Mom read Little House on the Prairie.

One of the days we were down the hill in Visalia we met a really great Police Officer that offered to let Zane sit on his motorcycle. Zane loved every minute of it and got to ask lots of questions.
Thank you Officer Stevens
He even got to turn on the flashing lights!!
We got to spend a day at the Fresno Zoo. Zane really enjoys going to the zoo, so we ended up purchasing a membership. I am sure you will be seeing many more zoo pictures over the next year. He really likes feeding the giraffes and seeing the Alligator and Rhinos.

The last weekend of the month, I get to spend a Ladies weekend at Pismo Beach. It was great to spend some time with other Hartland Moms. The first day was so hot at Avila Beach that we ended up swimming in the ocean. The water was still really cold, but it was a lot of fun playing in the waves. We ate lots of good food and enjoyed the beach and clear air.

Well that wraps up our September adventures. We pray that you are all staying healthy and happy. We have been in California 2 years next week and we still love this place and the amazing ministry God has called us to.
