July Adventures

July has been a very quiet month.  It is strange to live at a youth camp with no campers.  Such a quiet summer so far.  We will start with an adventure that Zane and Casey went on in June that I forgot to post on last months blog.  They went to Kaweah Lake(which is actually a large reservoir) and rented a fishing boat.  Zane got a new fishing pole for his birthday and wanted to try it out.  They had lots of fun but no fish.  Zane enjoyed playing in the water as well.

In the middle of the month we did a hike up into the Jennie Lakes Wilderness area.  We did a little over 5.5 miles and all of it was over 8500 feet elevation!  We had lunch at Rowell meadow and Zane got to spend some time playing in a creek.  We are so blessed to live so close to such amazing areas to explore and hike and with hardly any other people.

The tree house is finally finished.  It may get added onto in a year or so, but for now its a great place for Zane to play.

We have had other quiet adventures around camp.  There has been much playing in the creek and swimming in the pond.  And Zane and Casey have spent some time mountain biking on the local trails.

Casey even got brave enough for a swim(the water is cold)

Well after many of our travel plans for the past five months have been cancelled, we are leaving this week to head back to the Midwest for a week.  We will spend time in both Wisconsin and Iowa visiting family.  So check back next month for lots of pictures.
