Fun around Hartland

This month Zane got to help as some of the full time staff got trained on a few of Hartland's activities such as the zip line and extreme swing.  He got to be a participant so the staff could learn all the of the safety aspects of the obstacles.  This was his first time on the zip line and he loved it.  He had absolutly no fear and wanted to go as many times as possible.  It's great being a camp kid and helping out.

Having fun

He's been pulled to the top of the Extreme swing and now releases himself to swing

Swinging with no hands

Can I just say that this kid loves the water.  He always wants to go swimming or play in the creek.  So one day we went to the creek, he had his rubber boots on an assured me he wouldn't go to deep...

Within 5 minutes he's over the top of the boots

And now waist deep throwing sticks

For Zane's birthday he was given a year membership to the kid's museum in Visalia.  He loves all the fun activities especially working on the car.

Checking the fluids

Building with blocks

Playing with slime

In mid-September my good friend Rowanne came for a visit.  She is now running the horse program at Cascades Camp and it was fun to show her Hartland and the big trees.

Hiking at Hartland and saw a large pile of bear poop

Coral belly ring neck snake

Cougar tracks that we followed for over a mile

It's been a relaxing month with close to home adventures.  Next week Nana and Grandpa arrive for a visit.
